Q:
What if my granite darkens when it gets wet?
A: This is a sign that your granite
needs resealing as soon as possible, before oils, juices, etc.
can stain your top permanently.
Q:
Can I put hot pots on my granite, corian, or zodiaq countertops?
A: NO. Although these materials
are very heat resistant, we don't recommend placing hot pots on
them. The sealer used for granite can burn out of your stone,
leaving it more prone to staining, and zodiaq and corian may also
burn, causing unsightly stains.
Q:
How do I care for my granite, corian, or zodiaq on a daily basis?
A:
Granite: Granite
cleaners are recommended for daily cleaning, but a good rule of
thumb is not to use any cleaners you would not use on your hands.
This ensures the cleaner you use is gentle enough for your stone.
However, do not use soaps that contain lotions, and try and look
for a ph balanced cleanser.
Corian:
Use dish soap, Windex, or abrasive cleaners paired with a soft
sponge. Scouring pads should ONLY be used in sinks.
Zodiaq: Use the same procedure as with corian, but for
tough stains, a scouring pad may be used without scratching your
top.
